Best Overstable Drivers for Disc Golf
Updated How we research
INNOVA InnVision Star Firebird Distance Driver Golf Disc - 165-169g
Innova's InnVision Star Firebird, a very overstable driver for hard fades, headwinds and reliable forehand shots.
Dynamic Discs Fuzion Felon Fairway Driver Golf Disc - 160-169g
Dynamic Discs' Fuzion Felon, a very overstable fairway driver built for hard fades and reliable utility shots.
An overstable driver resists turning and finishes hard to the left for a right-handed backhand. That predictability is why one lives in most bags: headwinds, forehands, flex shots and spike hyzers all need a disc that will not flip over when you put extra power behind it. On the flight numbers, look for zero or positive turn paired with a high fade, and expect stiffer premium plastic to hold that flight far longer. We separated the merely stable from the genuinely stubborn, because they solve different problems. Moderately overstable drivers work as everyday utility discs and long flex lines. The strongest picks are for wind, tight forehand angles and escaping trouble, and they will feel short if you throw them flat. Heavier weights add resistance in wind, and a fresh premium run is the right call when you want the flight to stay put.

#5Dynamic Discs Lucid Enforcer in the 165-169g range with a limited edition Ricky Wysocki Sockibomb stamp. A speed 12 overstable distance driver with fade 4 for headwinds and hard hyzers.
Fit for the job 9/10 · Features and specs 7/10 · Build and materials 8/10 · Value 8/10
- + Listed flight ratings of speed 12, glide 4, turn 0.5 and fade 4 describe a driver that resists turn and finishes hard
- + Lucid plastic, the translucent Dynamic Discs blend that the brand says keeps its flight after hard use
- + 165-169g weight range is a little easier to get up to speed than a max weight Enforcer
- - Speed 12 with glide 4 asks for a strong arm, so newer players will see it fade out early
- - Color varies by order, and the listing says little beyond plastic, flight numbers and the stamp
#6Innova Halo Star Destroyer at 170-172g, a power driver rated speed 12, glide 5, turn -1, fade 3. Innova says Halo Star flies more overstable than regular Star and lists it for long hyzers and headwind drives.

- + Halo Star plastic is described as adding glide and overstability over standard Star, which suits an overstable slot
- + Two-tone injection gives a rim in a different color from the flight plate, and the listing calls the plastic durable
- - Innova pitches it at sidearm throwers and players with lots of power, so slower arms will get less out of it
- - Turn of -1 makes it less overstable than a true utility driver, and colors vary by order
