Target kits fill the gap between throwing at a tree and buying a full basket. Most bundle a portable target, marking gear, and sometimes discs, which makes them a practical first purchase or a way to set temporary holes at a field. Quality varies most in the target itself: some catch and hold a disc, while others only mark a spot. Storage and carry setup decides how often the kit actually travels with you. We weighed what ships in the box, whether the target gives usable feedback on a made putt, and how compact the kit packs down. Kits with a catching target suit putting practice at home, while marker-style kits suit temporary courses and group play at a park. If you already own a basket, a lighter marker kit is usually the better buy of the two.
